In May, I attended the Love 2 Create Convention again. Two days of being spoiled, having fun, learning new crafts, meeting new people and eating great food.
On arrival, we received our goodie bags and name tags. The theme this year was donuts.
Each day started with coffee and delicious homemade rusks.
Because of the water situation in Cape Town, we used paper cups, plates etc, so that there were no dishes to wash.
At tea times we had coffee and delicious homemade muffins.
Lunch each day was seriously delicious home cooked food and dessert.
Each day we did 3 workshops of 2 hours each.
Bracelet made from recycled coffee pods
It’s amazing how recycled coffee pods can make something this beautiful.
Metal art photo frame
We textured some of the metal and kept some pieces plain. Then we cut them all up and layer them over each other to create this beautiful and interesting frame.
We made this journal from scratch. The pages are white copy paper that has been stained with coffee and we added tags, gift bags, doilies, dictionary pages, etc.
We painted these house with chalk paint and did some decoupage and stenciling.
I realised I love working with chalk paint.
The first time I worked with texture paint and air-dry clay. Texture paint for the background and air-dry clay for the flowers.
Recycle Upcycle Tins
Who would have thought that tins can look this beautiful? Painted with chalk paint and decoupaged with serviettes.
I think I’m in love with chalk paint. There’s so much that you can do with it.
At lunch times we had prize draws and on both days I won!
A gift voucher to spend at Itz van Allez
This beautiful dishcloth.
There is no way I’m using this, it is too beautiful. So, I’m planning to take the painted picture off and frame it.
Thanks Itz van Allez for another great event. I’m looking forward to the next one!
